The Logistics.

There are a variety of ways to work with me.

1-on-1 Coaching.

If you’re in Seattle, we can meet in person at my office in the University District.  If you’re outside of the Emerald City, I offer coaching by phone or Skype.

If you would like to apply to work with me for 1-on-1 coaching, navigate on over to my Contact Page and simply email me or submit your request using the online form.  I will then send you a Client Intake Questionnaire, and we’ll set up a time to talk to see whether my practice will be the right fit for your needs.

Classes and Events.

I also love working with groups.  Hop on over to my Events Page to find out about the classes I’ll be teaching and group events I’ll be facilitating in the near future.

The Details.

And what will we work on?  That’s up to you.  I’ve helped clients change careers, transform their relationships, start businesses, get divorced gracefully, find their purpose, and even get a bit shamelessly spiritual.  My basic and master coach training programs with Dr. Martha Beck, as well as my legal background, allow me to meet you wherever you are on whatever issues you have.

I do have several specialties, however, and I’m particularly passionate about these areas!

Divorce.

Are you wrestling with the question of whether to stay or go?  Are you in the sticky middle of divorce proceedings?  Or is your divorce behind you and you’re ready for some big healing and big hope?

No matter where you are in the process, I can help because I’ve been there! As both an attorney and a coach, I am passionate about guiding adults through a graceful divorce and the process of rebuilding their lives with greater purpose and meaning.

There are so many tools and strategies (some of which I knew about during my divorce, others I wish I’d known about!) that can help you avoid nuclear warfare during the dissolution of your marriage, as well as experience deep healing afterwards.

I now share a wonderful post-divorce friendship with my ex-husband, and I love assisting others get to the same place.  And despite cultural messaging to the contrary, your divorce doesn’t necessarily have to be devastating and leave scorched earth in its wake.

Divorce is not for the faint of heart, but it is for the strong of spirit.  If your heart and your spirit need a little support in the process, I’d be honored to work with you.

Life Purpose.

Do you feel called to something different than what you are doing now?  Do you suspect you are meant for something more in your life?

I sure did (see my About Page for more on that)!  What I’ve come to understand through my own personal journey is that we are all on earth for a reason.

These callings, these purposes we have are unique to each and every one of us.  They do not need to be grandiose or impressive by culture’s standards.  They will, however, be incredibly fulfilling to the deepest parts of you.

Maybe you are confused about what exactly you came here to do.  Or perhaps you have a general idea, but you’re not sure of your first step, or how in the world you’re going to make it happen.  Either way, I can help!

Shameless Spirituality.

Several years ago, I came across for the first time that famous quote from Pierre Teilhard de Chardin that says, “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”  At that moment, something clicked into place for me.

Chardin’s statement reeked of truth and resonated to my core.  As a result, I’ve spent the last several years living out a personal commitment to getting shamelessly spiritual.

Whether you believe Chardin or not, how would your life be different if you knew you weren’t just a mere human, but an incredibly powerful spiritual being smushed into a body who came to this earth purposely and with intention to explore, experience adventures, and share your brilliance?  Would you feel more worthy?  Would you live your life more fearlessly?  My hunch is that you would.

We live in a culture where we are surrounded by messaging, media, authority figures and religions that instill fear and powerlessness in us.  I am deeply, deeply passionate about connecting people back to who they really are – to the fearless, powerful, awesome, inspired, loving, passionate spiritual beings we are at our core.

In the words of my most favorite mentor, Martha Beck, “Be brave enough to turn away from shiny objects, and toward the light that makes them shine.”  You are part of the light that makes everything shine.  Born magnificent and worthy you are.  If you’ve forgotten these things, let me help you remember!

Sunny has helped me ask the most important questions of my life, and she is insightful and excited as we look for answers. I am so grateful to Sunny. ~ Katie D.
